I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but.... I have noticed that sometime when asked to escort a ship it follows me to the jumpgate and when i start to go through it so does the other ship but on the other side it doesnt shoHas anyone else seen this issue?

Though, that really shouldn't happen...
But we will investigate to see what could be the reason.
More info for this issue, the npc ship is labeled as new npc, I decided to go back to the first jump location and he is just sitting near the gate not following anymore. Hope this helps.
I got this bug too.
I've only attempted the one escort mission, but if it helps..
- I'm playing single-player.
- The following ship was labelled "new npc"
- It stopped following after the first jump
- The first jump led into a system where radar didn't work
- At the first jumpgate, the ship is sitting there now labelled "freighter"
- If I save and quit while sitting next to the following ship, and then reload the game, the ship starts to follow me again but it still doesn't make it through jumpgates.
Sigh...
