Unsure if a mod caused it, but when I did the Barrich detector quest, the detector didn't show up in my inventory/storage. Is there a console command that I can use to either reset the quest, or add the detector device to my inventory?

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the energy scanner to find the old tech, not the device to let me travel to alien sectors.
And I've tried going back to Barrich, he doesn't give you extra scanners.
Sigh.... it should be working :(
Are you sure it is not on the station where Barrich is? It might be in storage.
And are you playing multiplayer by any chance?
I looked everywhere in that station, both storage, ship hold, and the store it was no where....
And I'm playing single player...
In that case you can use cheats to add that device for you
/additem quest_device_xengatarn_travel

Do Mods and/or using cheats disable the achievements?
Would it have been possible for me to find the Energy Source by blind luck, by flying around the system looking for it manually without the detector, or is it only placed when you have the detector equipped?

I went into console and typed this, both with the forward slash and without it, and neither was recognized.
Can you tell me exactly what I need to type to get this to work?

I was just playing killing some pirates waiting for a response, when I died, and showed up at barrich's station and the scanner was in my hold....
Just for the record, you use the commands in chat, not the console
