-- Server up with new universe - enjoy! this should last a good half year or more

Hi all,

I want to create a bigger universe for Kunix but it involves wiping the samegame.

Please vote on the poll, after a few weeks I'll make a decision:

I increased the galaxy size to 350 - created a single player game and the universe looks nice. Faction zones are as they are normally, alien faction is huge (half the whole galaxy).
Is there a way I can generate the map on kunix with this size while keeping the player saves? Or would I need to wipe it all and start from scratch?

Thanks AI - will look at this soon - I'm going to make a huge world on Kunix.
Does making world bigger have an impact on quests?

Lets say I am able to make that mod that would increase the world size even more and tweak some more things - would this then be a server only mod, or would the clients connecting also need the mod?
My humble guess would be server only

For the devs...

Would it be possible to increase the max Galaxy size even more? I think that Kunix's universe is already finished... a bigger galaxy would make it last a bit longer. Ofcourse regenerating and invading aliens would give the galaxy infinity but that's something for the future maybe :P - Maybe also add more difficulty?

btw it doesn't hurt installing mono also by doing the apt-get install mono-complete if you are on a debian based OS

Just connected - no issues, everything works, so maybe the port checker is just a borky website/program :) I don't think you need to put it in the DMZ :)

Well bring the server up now as you normally do and I'll check if I can actually connect to it

From what I can see it's not able to generate the Galaxy correctly.

Is this a totally new world or have people played in it already?
If it's new then I would suggest deleting the save and letting the game remake the world.

If it's an existing world then I would upload the save and share it here so that AI_Enabled can take a look.

If the port checker says that port 5000 is closed then no player will be able to connect to the server.

What you see in the console of players joining and leaving is actually people in the server browser looking up server information.
So when you are in VE and you refresh the screen in Multiplayer then at every online server it shows this message.

What I would suggest you do is try to open a different port and check with the port checker if it's open. Once you find a port that is open then you can change port 5000 in the config file to whatever open port you want to use.

With some routers you actually have to play around with the port forwarding options, I know I had a lot of issues when doing it. In the end I put my server in the DMZ and use the servers firewall to control open/closed ports.

Hope this helps

Take your mining ship, go mine and make money... then travel back and switch ships
