Every now and then i accidentally pickax or shoot something in my base. Maybe base structures i own could give me one or two free hits every 5min without my stuff taking damage?

Yes, the issue is reported from time to time and we're considering several solutions.
The simplest one (from my point of view) is to simply restrict any melee damage to the owned buildings. But it might lead to some confusion to the player, especially if we don't display a notification explaining that you cannot harm your own buildings with melee weapons.
Will get back to it in the near future, the current update is almost ready for the release.
