Post by: Lurler on March 19, 2015, 03:03:39 AM
VoidExpanse v1.1.x Update patch notes.

We are really hoping for this build to become our final version that will go on Steam! There still maybe a few tiny issues, but overall it is a significant improvement over v1.0 for sure! But you will be the judges of that!

=== VoidExpanse v1.1.0 ===
New features:
   * Switched to Unity 5 engine! Yay!
   * Now using physics based rendering. Even more Yay!
   * Mods menu! Now even if you don't use our starter you can still use mods conveniently.
   * Item comparison tooltip: red-green deltas
   * Added station undocking shortcut
   * Playing voice when voice volume changed (to test volume)

Changes:
   * Tons of corrections to English localization in the game. Thanks askew1!
   * Many skills were rebalanced. Mostly making them have more powerful effects
   * Some small weapon rebalancing
   * Consumables now merge on pickup
   * Made crate/inventory text in the container UI (when picking up stuff in space) bigger because some people didn't see it and couldn't understand which side is which
   * Updated to NoesisGUI 1.2.0
   * Updated credits
   * Fixed consumable generation. Now there will be more of them in stock (and updated stock generation in general)
   * Made weapon cursor more visible to make it easier to aim
   * No more friendly NPC aggring on player too easily
   * NVorbis (OGG audio library) is not used anymore (it caused serious memory leaks)

Fixed:
   * Liberation mission ally ship becames hostile if you damage him
   * Hardcore death does not display player's ship explosion
   * Radar - "interference" instead of "offline" in gas systems
   * Miners and asteroids pathfinding, no more fidgeting in place :)
   * Localization issues
   * Incorrect blackhole rendering
   * Memory leak during ships firing
   * Multithreading issues (error on start)
   * Mac and Linux issues
   * Pirate headhunters spawning where they shouldn't

=== VoidExpanse v1.1.1 ===
Changes:
   * Improved ship explosions

Fixed:
   * Incorrect gender specific phrases
   * 3D sounds (broken while upgrading to Unity 5)
   * Noise issue (like mining sound) which remained in menus/stations
   * Crash when removing nav point
   * Named nav points were displaying on Galaxy Map with incorrect names
   * Language selection fonts encoding

=== VoidExpanse v1.1.3 ===
New features:
   * Mod check. The game now tries to load all enabled mods and if it fails with an error - reloads with only the core mod.
   * Lens flares are added everywhere in the game. Looks really cool and is almost free in terms of performance.
   * Added "update available" notification (it checks if a newer stable release is available).

When can I get this update for Linux and Mac? ^_^ I feel like tessssting! - I'm not running Windows anymore so I can't see this awesomeness!
I know that AI is still working on some UI issues together with NoesisGUI team.

We are still working on Mac/Linux versions. We had to release this version for Windows now as it goes to press for reviewing.

My Save Files been deleted therefore putting an end to my YouTube Series...was this intended?
If so will it continue per patch?

Hello! The savegames made with the previous game versions are incompatible with 1.1.0/1.1.1. You can downgrade anytime to 1.0.4: download it from our website directly or via GameLauncher.

About the compatibility with future versions - as the game going to release on Steam, we will do our best to keep compatibility as long as possible.

Regards!

I've noticed the performance increases in 1.1.4 and 1.1.5. I was skipping the systems with Interference because the performance hit I was getting really made them unplayable. Great job guys!

Hey guys,

All of the file IDs on the download page are the same (2199) which seem to reference the 1.1.7Win build. Just a heads-up as I was trying to get the latest Linux one and downloaded the Windows one about 4 times before I realized I'm an idiot. :D

Quote- Windowed borderless screen mode for Windows

yay finally :D
I can remove my command line options, thanks! Also the no longer stuttering radar is brilliant, as it's usually where you're looking when navigating (cruise mode)...

Yes)
BTW, in borderless mode you cannot select active monitor from the game. Do we need to add this feature also? :-)

So I don't know if anyone else had this awesome experience: I updated from .6 to .8 and was excited to fix the Merchant issue I was seeing. I logged into my server and looked at the map and there were over 100 Merchant ships in the system, but none were moving. So I left the system and came back, hoping that it would trigger something and it took about 5 minutes for the area to load and they were all still there and it was behaving very choppily. I simply ran a /killall and cleared out all the Merchants to fix the issue, but just noting that it was an interesting result of the update. It seems only the system I was last in before patching my server experienced this. Otherwise, all is good! <3

So, when can we expect our Steam Keys?  I mean, you sent another email asking for reviews if we own the game...but you can't leave a review on the game unless you have it through Steam, so...still waiting.

Hi! Yes, we're unable to fix the issue as the world is already populated by stupid Merchants. Glad you find a proper way to deal with them! :D

No, I don't think so. As long as the game (implicitly?) respects the "Primary Monitor" setting that should be fine, and it always popped up on the primary for me so far. I personally always run my games on the primary monitor, since that's basically why it is the primary: For normal windows operation that setting doesn't really do a whole lot. For the (presumably very few) people who might need such an option, a command line switch would probably do, if you really want to implement some way to change monitors in that mode
