Hi,

you can edit the SettingsServer.xml file (should be located near the server executable file if you run it with the --dedicated flag as described in our wiki http://wiki.atomictorch.com/index.php?title=VoidExpanse/Server_setup ). There is a special flag <is_public_server> - you need to change it's value to 0 if you want to hide your server from the Public servers list.

Mods / Re: Bigger galaxy Map mod?
July 09, 2017, 09:28:46 PM
Hi,
unfortunately, the map size is hardcoded in the client UI code and we can't make it configurable - the game client is not moddable. You can only add/edit content and gameplay scripts in Core.cpk.
That's something we wanted to take into account for our next game, CryoFall. It's already completely moddable but in closed alpha.

Regards!

Ideas and suggestions / Re: Galaxy size
July 09, 2017, 02:12:31 AM
ninekorn, there is no limit implemented. But the game was not designed to handle that massive amount of stars. The galaxy has fixed size (say, 2000x2000 abstract units) and bigger stars count means they will be more densely located with very little padding between them. You can experiment but it seems going over 400 makes galaxy view window looks too dense and the displayed names of the stars will be hardly readable.

Thank you, MrRight!
Quote from: MrRight on June 09, 2017, 01:18:15 AMThe last point I don┬┤t understand exactly, because the server software doesn┬┤t run on every costumer PC with purchasing. So giving away for everyone could be interesting to think about but just in the future.
I need to clarify. The server software is included into the game. You can find it in the game installation folder. So practically everyone can host a server. There is a wiki page (http://wiki.atomictorch.com/VoidExpanse/Server_setup) describing how to setup it.

Thanks for reporting!
The crash dump is pointing on crash inside d3d11.dll. Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce it.
If you will have more crashes like this please ensure you're using the latest NVIDIA Driver and all the Windows updates are installed.

Bug reports / Re: Docking (from mile away)
March 19, 2017, 06:53:40 AM
Thanks for reporting!
That's unexpected as we didn't changed anything related to docking for a long time... If you can upload the game server logs on Google Drive or Dropbox and share a link it will help us to locate the issue. The logs folder is located at:
Windows: <User Documents>\AtomicTorchStudio\VoidExpanse
Linux: ~/.config/AtomicTorchStudio/VoidExpanse
Maс: ~/Library/Application Support/AtomicTorchStudio/VoidExpanse

Modding info / Re: WIP Salvaging

Sorry I absolutely forgot about this.
It was done in the separate branch of code but not tested thoroughly enough. We will test this and merge for the next patch.

Help section / Re: Pariah Expansion - In Multiplayer
March 11, 2017, 11:06:15 AM
Lurler edit: please read the following post, the information in this post is incorrect.

Hello!

It's possible but not recommended. It could be done in the same way as "core" or any mod is added to the ModsConfig.xml file.

The players without the installed expansion will see an error when try to connect to the server informing them that "DLC1 is not installed".

The primary issue is that some quests of the expansion are not suitable for multiplayer - during the quest line there will be some irreversible changes to the game world preventing other players from following the Pariahs faction quest line.

I'm not sure if we will update the expansion for multiplayer compatibility. We will discuss it next week.

Regards!

Tchey, thanks for your honest review! :-)
Well, many people still love the game and modding options.
There are not much we could do to improve - considering the engine architecture and a lot of legacy code. There were many quick bad decisions at the start of the project which are simply impossible to fix and implementing workarounds is not something easy. After all, it was our first project and it was done fairly quickly (for it's scale and our team size)...

Pariahs' Bane is some kind of tribute to the original game - we felt it deserves a content add-on and we knew exactly what we want to tell in its story and what content and features to include into it to make the game more complete.

We aren't repeating the same mistakes with CryoFall. It's solid and maintainable (thanks to our custom engine!), easy to develop with really quick iteration time. We're completely confident about every part of it.

I only hope one day we will return with VoidExpanse 2 to create our ultimate sci-fi hack-and-slash RPG game!

No, we've closed the alpha test so there are no servers running the game now.
We've got a lot of players feedback so now we focused on improving the game and implementing new features. Please wait for the second test (perhaps in a 2 months)!
