I think this is more aimed at AI:

Would it be possible to add an option of visiblity in the server settings and make it so that when a new player starts up VE, goes to Multiplayer that he sees all the available visible servers? Instead of having to add them manually?

Updated version of GameLauncher is uploaded now, it will auto-update the next time you launch it.

Thought I'd play a bit today... launcher keeps giving an error

Last weekend I worked together with AI to try to get VE to work in wine but no luck... I can get the intros to load, and I hear the main menu music but don't get any screen.
Tibarn, if you are handy with wine/etc then maybe you can give it a try too?

- Ships should be upgradeable, upgrade separate slots and weapon slots and put a max on the number of upgrades. For example the Freight ship could get 1-2 weapon upgrades + 3 parts upgrades. Weapons could then be upgraded from lvl 1 to lvl 2.
- Better weapon looks on ship. Laser to look more like a laser gun etc etc.
- More ship debris flying when ships are destroyed. Debris to disappear after 1 minute?

So I was thinking in order for people to actually notice that there are multiplayer servers available to have them show automatically in the multiplayer server list.

My idea is that in the server Settings file you add a field to have your server be visible/invisible. If the server is set to visible then as soon as the server is up it tells the atomictorch master server that it's alive. Atomictorch then adds the server in the multiplayer server list (think off most multiplayer FPS games). If the server is down then it won't show there.

If the server setting is set to invisible then you can only connect to it if you have the address/ip.

This way, when new people buy the game and go for multiplayer straight away, they are given a choice of servers to choose from.

The idea came to me while thinking of ways to promote the Kunix server and the second reason was that the Atomictorch server has quite a high ping for me.

And then for expanding the feature you could add a filter where the player can choose a ping range etc...
