I've just downloaded the new 1.1.1 patch and my game saves has been deleted... therefore putting an end to my YouTube Series...was this intended?
If so will it continue per patch?

Hello! The savegames made with the previous game versions are incompatible with 1.1.0/1.1.1. You can downgrade anytime to 1.0.4: download it from our website directly or via GameLauncher.
About the compatibility with future versions - as the game going to release on Steam, we will do our best to keep compatibility as long as possible.

A note to clarify - the save files are not deleted. They are there, but incompatible as ai_enabled said. So if you'd like to continue playing - just downgrade back.
PS - also that version is supposed to be EXPERIMENTAL for testing purposes only, and not for actually playing... ;)
