Now updated with the new omni weapon slots available in 1.2.5. Also adjusted the texture to indicate a new version.

Hi,

I've installed the 1.2.3 experimental version and I've since loaded the game 3 times without any problems so far, it loaded 2 different single player saves and I logged on to a multiplayer server without the need for me to restart steam or VE at all, so far it looks like it's working.

Ideas and suggestions / Blueprints Drops For Rare Ships.

I was thinking it'd be interesting if there was another station, perhaps an engineering station or shipyard,
that would work in a similar way to the research station in that it would give you hulls for gathering some specific
blueprints/schematics that could drop from enemies.

At the moment, ships are available as soon as you have the money and the skill,
I think that having that sort of "epic loot" drop would be kinda cool

Nice work, I've always been a fan of the ship design in homeworld, I think they look great.

Please note, this is only a really small bug and doesn't really affect gameplay at all. I only noticed it because i was trying to fine tune the rcs effects on a modded ship.

OS Version: Windows 8.1 Pro, 64bit
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
Graphics Driver Version: 347.52

Game version: 1.1.18, 1.2.0, 1.2.1 on steam
Game mode: Single Player (not tested on multiplayer)
Bug Location: Immediately after exiting a station
Steps to Reproduce: load a game and exit a station, BEFORE pressing any other controls, press the strafe key.
Reproduction Rate: 100%
Bug Description: If you exit a station and try to strafe without pressing any other key the ship won't strafe. Once forward is pressed (possibly reverse too) then the strafe starts to operate normally. this happens in both "auto" & "manual" control modes, weather the ship turns to face the mouse pointer in auto mode or not doesn't affect the bug, you still can't strafe until you've either gone forward or back.
Logs: Available if required.

Bug Location: When loading an existing game.
Steps to Reproduce: Start Void Expanse, exit void expanse, restart the game and then load an existing single player game
Reproduction Rate: 20% ? maybe, I've had it happen a few times in both 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 but it's not a regular occurence anymore.
Bug Description: When Loading an existing game the game will stop working bringing up a windows dialog saying "VoidExpanse.exe is not responding" with the description "A problem caused this program to stop interacting with windows" This is the same as the major problem i had in 1.1.18 except that it has now improved and is not a regular thing, I've found that when it happens I can exit steam, restart steam and then the next game I load in void expanse will load fine without any problems.

logs: below is a dropbox link to a zip file with 1.2.1 logs. logs number 21 & 22 were definitely a crash, however out of the other logs, I only had one more crash and i'm not sure which one it was. if it happens again I'll be sure to copy the logs as soon as it does.

Wow, that looks amazing indeed.

Are you creating this ship from scratch?

Yep, created from scratch, the modeling's done and I've pretty much finished the uv-mapping for it too, then it's on to testing and texturing.

Thanks for the info, I can manage with 5.
I was thinking it'd be fun to make a man-o-war style ship with an array of light weapons down each side !

I'm currently creating a heavy duty mining/cargo vessel (http://i.imgur.com/49Mp4Oj.jpg) at the light cruiser level, I was thinking my next ship would be a heavy cruiser version with more turrets, if more thank 5 causes UI issues, I'll just bump the tier of them up a bit (the light cruiser will most likely have all tier I weapons, i'll see what it's like during testing)

About: While the Kite doesn't have as much structure as the banshee, it does have extra cargo space and like the banshee carrys two weapon slots. The slots allow the use of either energy or ballistic weapons giving it great flexability. Its twin consumable slots also give it extra survivability in extended combat engagements.

Unfortunately I don't have any sort of crash dump files, all I get from windows is a message saying this program has stopped responding.

Just an additional note, I was able to get into a multiplayer game hosted by someone else, however, hosting a multiplayer game on my own machine and connecting to localhost has the same problems as starting a single player game.
