Proposing new idea on travel: zeppelin

Travel is really a pain in the game, and I have seen many players complaining about it. And it would be something good to have in the game to help travelling. Currently there is a mechanism of vehicle(hoverboard), it makes moving fast but still not solving the painful long distance travel problem: e.g. a player from left corner want to travel to volcanic zone, it will deplete the gaming enthusiasm for just moving whole day

My idea is that we could have a zeppelin, to send players from one zeppelin station to another one. This idea is inspired from World of Warcraft. The zeppelin travel can be a good money sink, to avoid inflation. By make it easier to travel to another location, it will help to make players trade more frequently and make the game much more playable

I have almost 600 hours on this game and i agree, travel is really a big problem on this game. And i feel the problem is the stamina consumption rate and char standard speed, i know about cigar and stamina bars, but still painful to move...

Hello!

We're actually considering adding teleport gates (built by the ancient civilization for shared usage :) ). It's quite similar to your idea as the outcome is the same—traveling between "stations" for the cost of some resource (pragmium crystals?).

Maybe a crazy idea?: Perhaps with a gate key that holds a charge(for a few teleports) and can be recharged not by the electricity system, though. I think it would be neat to take a pragmium crystal and cultivate it in your base to growing it into a spire, as we find in the desert, and the radiation(psi damage) it puts off could recharge these keys. :) Gives a little gameplay in getting access and use out of these gates.

This assumes it is not controlled or inhibited by technology, though I will admit that this idea would exclude low tech players from the gates.

On a side note...what about SLOWER travel?

New tech tree for animal husbandry
- Capturing/Taming
- Feeding/Butchering
- Mounts

The benefit to animals would be harvesting meats and milks. Also final tier would allow for mounting but for a different purpose than speed. The animals would provide added storage for big harvest runs. Larger animals more inventory space but moves at normal walk speed. Faster animal with less inventory space but moves at sprint speed all the time without effecting stamina. Also the animals would have to be fed and maintained for additional role playing effect...maybe even naming your animals.

PS: Multi person mounts that would allow for one person to harvest on the move!

We're thinking about animals taming but don't have any plans regarding it. When we will finish most of our roadmap tasks (as posted on the Steam page), we will consider adding tamed animals!

Back to fast travel - I'd like to set bedrolls at each of our personal land claims, and just let us pick which bed to spawn to.  Maybe with a button to fast travel and take a few minutes (let us chat at least) or on death.  This just expands on what we currently do without revolutionary changes.

I like this idea, and it should only work on bedrolls/beds that are built on a claim. However, a concern I have for this is teams of 10 have the ability to place 30 claims. They could set up an elaborate fast travel network while simultaneously wasting a bunch of space on the map that other players could be building in. So a revolutionary change to the claim system would be needed to make this fair to solo/smaller teams and eliminate "bedbase" clutter across the map :)

The idea of ​​travel is awesome. But some things will be turned upside down in the game. You don't need to take risks to choose a good development area, just hide in an area with a few small mines to exploit, when you need something to go far, you will run to the teleport gate to get something you need...

On a crowded server like Global, crucial strategic resources like Pragium are really hard to get if you don't trade (not every team is able to run through the desert gate - looting, war, nobody cares about who you are, shoot first). So if there is a teleport gate. What is the guarantee that the player will not gather, building around it to move and loot?

Each territory has its own advantages, you choose the development area based on the ability of yourself or your team. Dispute opportunities on good resource areas.

Although it only appears on PVE server, I felt it was unstable. The system of interaction between players is very low and it will get worse when the player is able to get everything he wants quickly.
