Ideas and suggestions / Re: V1.4.9 - suggestions
July 17, 2015, 01:50:53 AM
Hi! Thank you for your question.
Ok, let's do that in a the order it was asked:

- No, we are not planning to implement the feature which shows where in a galaxy you have your property stored. Actually, in VoidExpanse you earn enough money just to buy yourself a new toys not looking for old ones.
- The same, no. The stock in the shops generates every couple of minutes, and the way there is usually longer than that time. So you don't need to know former or even current stock, it just doesn't make sense.
- They are the nameless spawn, so we cannot identify or mark some NPC's for quests.
- We have a really rare ones, maybe you haven't found them?
- Oh, we added a new kind of space stations with a different functionality in the last content update. Not planning anything new currently, but maybe in the future.
- No crafting is planned currently. And, yes, no we are not planning some major changes. Only stability and content updates.

The ideas are actually really good for some modding, which is easy-to-learn and flexible with VoidExpanse.

Do I understand you correct - you were trying to change the texture color and it didn't work properly? We store textures in .jpg files so you can use any program which can edit .jpg files. But I think that you need to check if you saved everything properly. All files extensions, names etc. Because if you have a pink error that means that Unity cannot find a material.

Are you playing a Steam version? If so - select game properties and uncheck "Enable in-game overlay". We are working on fixing it, but right now it depends on Unity and NoesisGUI..

We will fix it in one of the upcoming patches. It will generate new-added goods at the bases without necessity in making the new save.

I am having the same problem right now.  Is there something I am not doing first.  I just bought the game off steam and can't even play.  Thank you for any help.

Could you upload all the game logs from /Documents/AtomicTorchStudio/VoidExpanse/Logs on Google Drive or Dropbox and provide the link please?

Ow! Thank you, we will fix it!

Or even to give an access to a stock market via that terminal to buy an amount of goods somewhere and hire a convoy to transport to some other place, yes? ))) You just fueled my fantasies with that  8) Currently we have no plans to implement any additional terminals. However, it might be possible for modders to implement something like that. It would be cool to see it in the game.

Ohhh, that was really a lot of reading - but, you know, pleasant reading. I didn't agree so much with a commentator or suggestion-bringer for a long time already. And some of your ideas are good enough for VoidExpanse 2.  ;D

First, I would like to say some words on the subjects where I have a different opinion. Price depending on route length or absolute distance - nah, this is too shallow and obvious. Some more sophisticated mechanics of demand and satiation would work better.
Also about unlocking the weapon mounts types. I disagree with that because I think that at the very end everybody will try to buy only one ship with a best overall set of stats and that will affect the aims and goals of players, no, no good at all.

About balance issues - well, we will fix them and bring them to more satisfying form. And we will start with some trade re-balancing, it happens in one of the nearest patches.

Sounds true reasonable. We'll think about it.

Or--perhaps giving a function to the suns in each system--being able to extract specific energy/resources/fuel from them with a special tool.

Hm, this is a good idea and we already have a mod like that: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=324260&browsesort=mostrecent&section=readytouseitems

Oh, well, we consider all the mistakes and poorly developed parts of the game and literally everything our players suggested. And they have right at many points. Some of features were upgraded or made from the scratch in the upcoming content update, we are going to release it very soon. And it depends on how the player take this update and what feedback it brings. After releasing it we will decide which improvements we are going to do next. I want you to understand that we are not leaving this game and improving it, it just needs some time.
#44
No, because actually it is easier to design and develop a large system from the scratch. Those little "cherries on the top" usually cause a lots of bugs, unpredictable game behavior, re-balancing, tuning and really may take more time and/or effort. Right now we cannot afford to start any rebuilding of the economical system despite you are giving us really reasonable and good ideas.

I think you should be pretty content with the 70% you have at the moment. Yes you had a bit of launch issues but it didn't make your rating drop below 50% (and yes, I know Steam took care of the Russian reviews).

Are you guys planning any social media push for the content update? Maybe a spot on the Steam frontpage?

Well, 70% is not really representative, because the quantity of reviews also matters. But 70% is good, for sure.
About Russian-speaking community reviews - nobody took care of them or touched them. Because Steam reviewing system works different way and automatically: if review was considered not useful, it is not shown anymore. Anyway, you can see it on the page where all the reviews are stored. But I may be mistaken, I don't know the exact algorithm.
More about negative reviews: yes, sometimes we felt offended or just really bad after some harsh critics. But it is a point to start to improve ourselves, not to shut some angry commentators.
About SM push - well, yes, we are planning the SM and press coverage, of course. Maybe you meant something special - then tell us. We always appreciate your advises:)
