Is it possible to get current coordiates displayed outside the map. Somewhere on the main screen, in the corner. Perhaps have a feature where it can be enabled/disabled. Either this or
This next suggestion may need a lot of work so maybe not viable.... if you place a marker or coordianted on map; when you then exit map an arrow points the way. Like gps...
My original idea is enough for me though.

You can hover the mouse cursor over the minimapΓÇöit will display the current coordinate.
We're planning to implement map marks and waypoints so it will be easier to go to a certain place on the map.
