Simple suggestion (though implementation may be not so simple):
In some areas (I remember a light blue nebula background) the cursor may be hard to see due to lack of contrast with the background. Thus I'd like a high contrast version for the cursor. If the background is mostly back it should be white. If the background is light blue it should be dark red. Could be done dynamically by using the HSB model - since the Hue is using polar coordinates (red is 0┬░ and yellowish is 55┬░, for example) simply add 180┬░ and invert Brightness ;)
Nice idea, I second that, there have been a few times where I've lost track of where I'm pointing
Sounds fair, if it can be done in a reasonable time we will try to push it in the next big release.
I second the call for a high visibility cursor, I often find in the heat of a battle (~5 ships) I'm shooting at the direction the ship is facing because the ship stands out on the screen much more than the cursor, if the cursor was brighter and "bold" style sort of thing that would help a lot!!
