I have heard talk about plans to implement some way of interacting with planets.

Thanks for the input! I'm glad to know that this idea doesn't seem to hard to implement.

Bug reports / Re: Unable to launch game [OS X 10.9]

I believe I only have one GPU -- an integrated intel graphics card with shared memory. The model is "Intel HD Graphics 4000" with 1024 MB vram. (If you need, I can give more information on it).

I tried loading the game and it freezes on the "VoidExpanse Loading..." screen. I noticed that when it freezes, sometimes it only displays the "VoidExpanse Loading.." screen -- there isn't the AtomicTorch studio screen before that, or the VoidExpanse icon. It goes right to the loading screen. However, sometimes it shows the AtomicTorch studio screen etc.

The music still does not play when it freezes. However, if I re-open the program enough times, it will work eventually.

I double-checked my game version and it is indeed 1.2.1.

P.S. I appreciate your help on this issue so far! On the times that VoidExpanse opens, I have enabled "Sun effects" and it's really cool that my screen doesn't go black!

I have noticed that this bug does have a reproduction rate. It is over 50%, but if I keep opening VoidExpanse again, it eventually works.

I just launched the game once more, and now it works! Interesting! I even tested my single-player world and it works. I have uploaded the new log files to this location, so that it may help you to figure out what was happening: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zfg9whquorulyui/AACoYRuz_aBcOZXj_JlrOUdva?dl=0

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help so far! I appreciate it.

There are no more log files being generated, however I did locate and upload the Player.Log file to this link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zfg9whquorulyui/AACoYRuz_aBcOZXj_JlrOUdva?dl=0

Hello all,

I believe a really interesting addition would be a procedural storyline generation in VoidExpanse. For instance, (slight spoiler for VoidExpanse in this sentence) instead of having just the biological-like alien ships and the farlands, perhaps one time it picks (from a list of pre-defined good starting stories) that you will be playing as the rest of the federation (Not in the farlands).

Or perhaps it picks another time that you will be a member from the Farlands on the other side of the galaxy -- surely there is more than one farlands in an entire galaxy? Perhaps there will be a different threat there.

In addition, there can probably be more pre-defined factions for each starting area, and more characters.

I believe this would take the game from really good to GREAT -- Imagine each time you play a new world, you start in a new location. You can go adventure into anomalies in space, or perhaps even visit other starting areas (if they are not too far). There would be so much more to do and learn -- and a great opportunity for more lore.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
John

EDIT: If anyone is interested in this idea also, could you reply and say so below? I want to know if it's just me that thinks this is cool or not!
