Is "designing your ship" a feature that is on the future roadmap because that would be outstanding.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but don't many of the upgrades (ie. weapons and engines) change the ship's appearance? I could have sworn when I changed out my engine the trail changed from yellow to blue in appearance (a very cool effect, btw).

Or I am crazy.

I'd love to see a total overhaul mod. Can't wait to see it!

But about the trailer and website, I kinda disagree. Frankly, I feel the website is fairly decent and I'm not sure how it could be improved. But regarding the trailer, sure. However, how do you even successfully market a trailer for a game like this compared to something like Star Citizen, it will just not get the attention it deserves.

This game needs a huge word of mouth campaign via STEAM and social media. The forums needs to be overhauled and more encouraged to use it. More mods released to get more people active on the STEAM Workshop. More screenshots uploaded, more positive reviews, ect. Then this game needs to garner more attention from the games journalists and magazines (that's the hard part, I'm sure).

Honestly, I feel that getting the game out there has to be one of the most difficult aspects of game development but it is REALLY important. That being said, looks like you guys are off to a good start with all the Lets Plays and such. Nice work!

Game discussion / Re: Trade Routes

I think the best way to address this would be to give sectors, stations, and eventually planets some things they can supply and things they can demand. A mining station would, for example, have most minerals cheaply but might require medicine. This would inherently create some sort of trade routes that would be dynamic and responsive.

I mean, it's very difficult to be a Trader without things like this.

I'm curious, do they update when merchants dock? I could have sworn I saw new stuff appear after a merchant ship docked.

I know who Scott is but I can't say I'm a huge YouTube Lets Play watcher. I kinda just discovered this game by accident thanks to STEAM's recommendations. Ironically, I sold my buddy on it and he'd never heard of it despite religiously watching Scott Manly videos, lol.

One additional tweak you could implement is an "average purchased price" display indicating the average price you purchased an item was (I say average because you'll likely have stacks of items at different prices). That way if we purchase medical supplies at A and goto B we'll see that we originally purchased them for 149 credits. You could tie this into an early level Trader skill and help make those more beneficial too.

One more thing you could add is a way to see or track economic prices, supply and demand, and things like shortages and surplus from your ship and within stations. There needs to be some way for merchants to plan this stuff out rather then just winging it and going on a journey. Right now the prices feel to random.

On that note, I know you guys are doing an economic patch in the future and cannot wait!

Ideas and suggestions / Re: Party members

God yes. I'd love to be able to distinguish my friends from everyone else on the map. Don't forget to put an indicator on the galaxy map too!

That's a good idea and a pretty simple solution.

Very true, we need unique things going on to help generate exploration. What if the entire map wasn't fully explored and we had unexplored sectors? Or abandoned sectors?

So, are planets going to happen in the future? Because that'd be sweet. I'd love to see trading with planets, maybe planetary combat, and hunting expeditions. Basically each "class" needs to have 2-3 things they can do on a planet.

Fighters and Rogues can do hunt, participate in tournaments, and fight in battles.
Traders can trade, do expeditions, and conduct diplomacy.
Miners can do mining expeditions.

The idea of land vehicles and bases would just be fantastic too. I'd love to be able to put down roots and have land stuff.
