Good to read Linux is on the list. I know about the "obstacles" part and as a small team, you have to prioritize.

Cheers, i'm really curious to see what Cryofall can do, and mostly, what the mods will offer.

Hello,

I know you will do Linux at release like you said, and did, for you previous game, and it's great. Somehow sad not to be able to be part of the testing phases, but it's not a big deal, if Linux is well commited then.

I open this only to gather the players who would play it on Linux.

What's your systems ?

My system (from 2015, no hardware upgrad since) :

I use PlayOnLinux/WINE to play a few Windows games, but the vaste majority of them are Linux-friendly.

I understand Linux coming later in development, and i trust you for doing a good port then, as your previous ones where nice with great suuport. As long as it's good for release day (and not 2 years later like some other devs...) it's fine.

I was wondering where were the updates !

Well about the production chaines, it's classic and effective, i would say. I hope there are more than one ressource for each material. For example sugar from at least 4 different plants - i don't know their names in english. Under ground, ground, tree, flower...

I like the arts, also.

If they are different "levels", that's the kind of "progress" i don't like much in survival games. For some tools yes, wood < stone < iron makes sense, but i can drink as well in a wooden cup as in a glass one.

Anyway, the art of the game is cute and readable so far, and i only want to see more.

Hi,

Is there a quality system ?

I'd like one day to see a game with quality vegetables are not the ones made with chemical and machine, but the ones planted by hand with selected seed from the best breed... Just like in real life, i you eat one "real hand made" apple, tomatoe or basically any kind of food, you can't ignore the difference with the "industrial" apple... More taste, better nutriement, need to eat less to fill full and well...

The buildings remind me of VoidExpanse stations "style", and i like them.

Yep, and in my opinion it's the main problem of the game.

It's space combat oriented, but it's not nervous or tactical enough to be really good.
It has industry part (mining, market...) but it's not dense or viable enough to be worthy.
It has some exploration, but nothing really attractive to focus on.

It's quite missing its niche, and so it is seen has an average game.

I feel it's a waste, as it could be so much "more". A kind of mix between ASCIISector, Unending Galaxy, Drox Operative, Star Sector would be so possible with the engine and base gameplay you've achieved so far...

Still, it's well worth playing VoidExpanse, only with a taste of "i wish / if only".

So far, i tried to be a industrial peaceful guy, mining mostly and doing some fedex, while avoiding fights (only the small basic pirates are easily doable), but now i feel again it's going to be super hard not to be a fighter. Space seems crowded with pirates, quite crazy. I think it was already like this in vanilla game, but now i try to avoid fight, it feels worst.

Less pirates, but in small patroling bands, would feel better, i think. Also they seem to keep agro forever, somehow annoying, but it may be i'm way too slow (even if they are offscreen, if i stop they catch me).

I only saw the crafting stuff, not yet actually buid anything, as i sold everything to buy a better ship. Didn't join a faction yet, only started the Pariah line i guess. Not sure what i will do yet, i'm only level 11, and almost all points went to Industrial/Mining so far.
